AJSA INTERSHIP


The American Shorthorn Association (ASA) and the American Junior Shorthorn Association (AJSA) seek individuals interested in a full-time paid summer internship. This is an outstanding opportunity to attain training and work experience in an association atmosphere. The intern will assist with programs of the ASA and AJSA activities, such as the planning and execution of the 2010 National Junior Shorthorn Show & Youth Conference, including but not limited to press releases, creative design work, media contact, correspondence with planning committees, and data and entry input and organization.

Qualifications/Expectations:

  • Should be a sophomore, junior, or senior in college
  • Livestock or agricultural background is preferred
  • Interest in working in an agriculture-related field after college.
  • Be self-motivated, professional, detail oriented, outgoing and energetic
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Design programs preferred
  • Communication, Marketing and or Public Relations skills desired
  • Travel to Junior Nationals as well as other possible events is required
  • Position is held at the ASA headquarters, Omaha, Neb.
  • Internship beginning and ending dates are variable upon applicant availability with school
  • Living arrangements are responsibility of applicant, however ASA may be of assistance in location
  • Compensation is $2,000/month less all appropriate taxes
