IMPACT 2015 HELD IN KANSAS CITY

Breeders Conference Offered Top-Notch Program

KANSAS CITY, Missouri, (December 16, 2015) – December 3-5, industry professionals attended the IMPACT 2015 Annual Breeders Conference at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in Kansas City, MO. The two and a half day conference was well attended, at times, with standing-room only. Show ring and commercial breeders from all over the United States were in attendance, as well as industry professionals from outside the breed. The program was led by Kevin Oschner, President, Agcellerate.

The line-up was filled with industry-leading professionals like Dorian Garrick, Lush Chair in Animal Breeding & Genetics, Executive Director at National Beef Cattle Evaluation Consortium, Department of Animal Science at Iowa State University; Dr. Wade Shafer, Executive Vice President at the American Simmental Association; Cassie Johnson of Solution Genetics; John Sullivan of Sullivan Farms; Joe Sellers, Beef Field Specialist at Iowa State University Extension & Outreach; Dr. Bob Weaber, Associate Professor/Cow-Calf Extension Specialist at Kansas State University; Jeff Bedwell of Bedwell Cattle Co.; and many other top-notch professionals.

The conference was kicked off with a presentation by Oschner titled, “The Road To The Future: Issues and Trends Driving Change In The Beef Industry.” This topic generated discussion that flowed through the entire conference.

The Breeders Conference was held in conjunction with the ASAs Annual Meeting, which included a social and banquet.

The event was sponsored by GeneSeek, The Shorthorn Foundation, Purina Animal Nutrition LLC, Sullivan Farms and BEEF.

Long-time Shorthorn Breeders Recognized At Annual Meeting in Missouri

KANSAS CITY, Missouri, (December 16, 2015) – Century Club Award honorees were announced during the American Shorthorn Association’s Annual Meeting at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino earlier this month.
