Kentucky Shorthorn Field Day & State Junior Show

8:30 a.m. Gate of Bourbon County Fairgrounds open
10:00 a.m. Check in cattle with junior advisors
10:30 a.m. Kentucky Shorthorn Association Annual Meeting
11:30 a.m. Lunch: Burgers provided, please bring a side dish to share and your own drinks.
1:30 p.m. Blow and go state Shorthorn junior show
Classes offered and show order for the state junior shorthorn show:
Showmanship (age as of January 1st)
Senior (17 years to 21 years)
Intermediate (13 to 16 years)
Prospector II (9 to 12 years)
Prospector I (8 years and under)
Purebred heifers (including cow calf pairs; bred and owned recognized)
Purebred bred and owned bulls (No two-year-old bulls please)
Shorthorn plus heifers (including cow calf pairs; bred and owned recognized)
Shorthorn plus bulls (No two-year-old bulls please)
Purebred and shorthorn plus prospect steers
Registration papers and health papers are required for the State Junior Shorthorn Show. All animals must be registered in the exhibitor name to show. Registration papers will be checked by the State Junior Shorthorn Advisors. All exhibitors must be an American Junior Shorthorn Association Member to participate. No dues are required to be a Kentucky Junior Shorthorn Association Member.
Banners will be awarded for the Purebred, Plus Heifers, and Bulls and rosettes will be awarded to the other champions. Additional prizes will be awarded for class winners, showmanship, etc. Show results will be sent into the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and we will award any additional premium money to our participants if state funds are awarded.
This is a blow and go show. No fitting allowed. We ask all exhibitors to take their bedding and trash with them upon the conclusion of the show.
